An all-star blues show, featuring the award-winning Steve Kozak Band, a Frank Sinatra tribute, and a gospel show will entertain crowds at the summer jazz festival.

The second annual festival is now accepting applications from local jazz and blues bands interested in performing between July 26 and 28, 2019, announced Karen Zukas, executive director of the festival.

“We’re going to play some Dixieland, with a capital D!” said Glen Tremblay, as Razzmajazz kicked off the first Fort Langley Jazz and Arts Festival on Saturday morning.
RazzMaJazz led a parade from St. Andrew’s church down Glover Road to the Fort Langley Community Hall.
There MC Mark Forsythe introduced the day’s events, which included two stages, one at the hall and one on the Bedford plaza near the waterfront.
“Sights and sounds, arts, and live jazz are going to be taking over the streets of Fort Langley today,” Forsythe said.

Organizers of the first Fort Langley Jazz and Arts festival are already planning the next one, following a warm and bright Saturday that saw the street packed with music and art fans.
“It’s already booked,” said Karen Zukas, executive director of the festival.
Zukas said the plans are to hold the 2019 event from July 26 to July 28.
Up to 10,000 were expected to attend the weekend event.

The festival will kick-off July 28 with a Mardis Gras style strolling parade at 9:30 a.m. from the Fort Langley Farmers’ Market to the Fort Langley Community Hall, followed by opening remarks emceed by Mark Forsythe, the former host of the CBC radio program, Almanac.
