“North Langley” has seen the addition of a number of events and festival in recent years … from the Food Truck Festival to Glow Christmas. The newest festival comes to our community next month … The Fort Langley Jazz and Arts Festival.
It all starts with a Mardi Gras parasol parade on Saturday, July 28 at 9:30am from the Fort Langley Farmers Market on Glover Road to the main festival stage in front of the Fort Langley Community Hall.
A diverse line-up of swinging world-class jazz bands will perform on two outdoor stages throughout the day: the Fort Langley Community Hall on Glover Road; and the Bedford Plaza boardwalk on Billy Brown Road. You can also enjoy talented youth and up and coming jazz music buskers performing at various locations throughout the community.
Tickets can also be purchased (19+) for a fabulous evening of entertainment and dancing at the Tribute to Motown dance at the Fort Langley Community Hall.
You will also be able to take a self-guided tour of local art studios and galleries throughout Fort Langley. Enjoy original works of art in many genres and mediums, and watch demonstrations.
This past weekend the very popular RazzMaJazz band performed their jazz creole, dixieland and blues style music up and down Glover Road … giving us a taste of next months festival. Thanks to the band for let me get some photos while performing one of my all time favourite songs … “Doctor Jazz”.
