Brenda Sleightholme
About The Artist
I am a long time Fort Langley resident, having raised four children in the Village and now enjoying grandchildren. After 47 years of teaching piano, I am pursuing my childhood “arty” roots. For the past six years, I have painted watercolours and large acrylic canvases, mostly architectural influenced from yearly art workshops in Europe. With the onset of Covid, these travels have been virtual. Even downtown Vancouver eludes e but the bright lights of Granville Street after a wonderful concert at the Orpheum was a lovely memory that inspired this painting.
Carolyn Abramson
About The Artist
I always said that someday I would like to learn to paint. My someday arrived 2 years ago in my 75th year. I see the world differently now. I am always looking for something new to paint. We have run out of walls to hang them on. Shapes and textures fill my mind and I am loving the fact that my "Someday" has arrived.
This painting represents my life in a way. The season for the forest is almost complete, but there is still lots of wonderful color left to enjoy.
It is an acrylic on an 11x14 canvas panel. It is framed using a black wooden frame.
