Fort Langley Jazz & Arts Festival Launches First-Ever 2024 Holiday Card Contest for Youth

With the holiday season fast approaching, the Fort Langley Jazz & Arts Festival is thrilled to announce its inaugural 2024 Holiday Card Contest, inviting youth from Langley and across B.C. to showcase their creativity and celebrate the holiday spirit.

“The Fort Langley Jazz and Arts Festival may be synonymous with music – but it’s so much more,” said Karen Zukas, the Festival’s Executive Director. “The festival celebrates artistic expression in so many forms. With that in mind, we are inviting all youth in Langley and surrounding communities, ages 5-12, to submit holiday-themed artwork that celebrates the joy of music and the magic of the season.”

The contest is divided into four age categories: ages 5-6;  7 – 8; 9 – 10 and 11 – 12. A winner from each age category will be selected, and their artwork will be featured on Fort Langley Jazz & Arts Festival holiday cards.

Winners will also receive a $50 gift card of their choice and 10 printed cards featuring their winning design.

Artwork should be 5×7 or a similar ratio, up to a maximum of 10×14. Participants can use traditional mediums like crayons, pencils, paints, or pastels. AI-generated digital artwork is not accepted.

Submissions can be made by uploading a high-resolution scan online or mailing the original piece. All entries are due by Friday, November 29, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. PST.
